Ode to a Dove
Thu Jun 04, 2015 6:08 am by davidf
Oh! You beautiful Dove
With your wings white as snow
Take us to a place
Where are no wars
For you are the symbol of peace.

The Mask and the Mirror
Mon Jun 01, 2015 12:25 am by Carol Perroni
The moonlight struck across the windowpane
like the long ghostly hand of a clock
It had told her in her youth it was time
to choose between the mirror or the mask

As the fingers of moonlight drew their lines
of fate through her,
she could hear the ghostly words say,
“Choose one to look out of, or one to look into;
either the mask of night, or the light of day.”

Now the mask smiled at the …

Don't say a word
Fri Nov 20, 2015 3:36 am by berry50992
Every day with your daddy is heaven
but when someone takes his life away,
a person you don't even know,
some strange and horrible man,
nothing will ever matter again.
No, nothing will matter.
You're traumatized and your world will shatter.
Your life has just crumbled.
Your house of cards has tumbled.
Down comes the drape.
No escape! No escape!
Darkness is where demons dwell.
What once was heaven …

choices
Fri Nov 06, 2015 1:02 am by Ian Russell

IF I COULD START MY LIFE AGAIN
AND CHOOSE WHAT I MIGHT BE
I` D CONSIDER ALL THE OPTIONS
AVAILABLE TO ME

WOULD I BE AN EMPEROR
AND LIVE IN PALACE GRAND
AND HAVE MY SUBJECTS BOW TO ME
AS I PASSED THROUGH THE LAND

WOULD I BE AN EXPLORER
WANDERING FAR FROM HOME
AND ALL THE WORLD WOULD READ ABOUT
THE PLACES I DID ROAM

WOULD I BE AN ASTRONAUT
TRAVELLING THROUGH SPACE
AND JOURNEY FAR TO OUTER …

Tears
Fri Nov 20, 2015 2:41 am by berry50992
What is the value of a tear?
If people cry many
it might just be a penny I fear.
If there is a case of controlled grief
would one single tear
offer any relief
on a griefstruck face,
a face that shows pain
and so much strain?
Sinead o Connor was just a name
but one single tear brought her fame.
Actors and actresses cry on command.
When a director shouts "Cry!" tears flow.
Someone said: "It …

The snowy owl
Fri Nov 20, 2015 2:49 am by berry50992
She is a ghost.
With feathery wings she moves through the night,
silently, cautiously, unseen, unheard.
Her eyes keep searching and notice every change.
Her ears registrate every sound, however insignificant.
She celebrates her existence.
Small creatures everywhere are invited.
A hungry host awaits them.
She has an almost regal posture.
When she hoots everything listens.
She is mysterious, …

on Living

On Living

In life one thing is certain
From the moment of our birth
That some time in the future
We will leave this planet Earth

There is no one who can tell you
Just how much time you’ve e got
So make the most of every moment
And be contented with your lot

There are so many things to do
So many things to see
Fill your lifespan to the full
Be the best that you can be

Try to make each day a …

Smile

Smile

This world would be a sorry place
If people did not smile
If we were sad and gloomy
Life would not be worthwhile

So let us be determined
At least one time each day
To find something to cheer us
As we go along our way

It may be something simple
Like the action of a child
The birdsong of the morning
Or roses growing wild

A story told by someone
Which has a funny theme
Or …

Paper Airplane
Fri Jun 12, 2015 11:37 pm by Carol Perroni
Going around in circles
the cycles of being
locked in the continuum of life
The bubbles on the water repeating
the circles of dreams that
overlap and interconnect
forming a rainbow tunnel
that I run through

At the end of the tunnel I open
the rectangular door
and there sits a square box
holding the fragments of my dreams
I open the box and wear
the tattered fragments
until they tie themselves …
